Safe and Sober Free Ride Home Program on New Year’s Eve

TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Dec. 22, 2008—Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin will team up with Yellow Cab of Terre Haute to provide free transportation to those who can’t drive or feel they don’t have a safe way home this New Year’s Eve. The Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program will be available from 10 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2008,
through 4 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2009
.

“Traditionally, New Year’s Eve brings a time for friends and family to join together, build memories, and welcome the New Year. Unfortunately, this time of year also is synonymous with increased incidents of alcohol-related accidents,” said attorney Steven Fleschner, co-founder of Terre Haute-based Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin. “Our goal is to reduce unnecessary accidents and keep everyone on the roads safer by providing these free rides for anyone who doesn’t have a safe way home this New Year’s Eve.”

To request a free cab ride home, individuals can call Yellow Cab of Terre Haute at (812) 478-5000 and tell them Fleschner Law is paying for their safe ride home. Cab rides are made available to area residents who otherwise might attempt to drive home after drinking. Rides are provided to an individual’s residence in Terre Haute or West Terre Haute—not to other drinking locations. Drivers have the right to use their discretion when accepting fares. Due to the high number of ride requests on New Year’s Eve, rides cannot be guaranteed for everyone who calls; however, every attempt will be made to accommodate everyone who requests a ride home.

About Safe and Sober

The Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program seeks to raise community awareness regarding the dangers of drunk driving and encourage individuals to make responsible choices by providing a safe transportation alternative during many of the traditionally high alcohol consumption holidays. Cab rides are made available to area residents who otherwise might attempt to drive home after drinking. Rides are provided to an individual’s residence—not to other drinking locations.
