Injury Lawyer Profile: Vicki T. Aukerman

Vicki Aukerman was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1968. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in May of 1998, where she majored in criminal justice with an emphasis on terrorism and minored in political science with an emphasis in international relations. While at UNLV, Vicki was very active in Phi Sigma Alpha, a political honor society, and during her final year, she interned with United States Probation Office in Las Vegas, Nevada, gaining valuable knowledge of the Federal court system.

Vicki graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, in September 2004, where she participated in Moot Court and graduated with an area of concentration in litigation. While attending law school, Vicki served as a law clerk for at Federlien & Keranean, a construction litigation firm in Bloomington, Michigan. She then went on to serve as a judicial clerk for six visiting judges at the 6th Circuit Court in Oakland County, Pontiac, Michigan, before moving on to serve as a judicial clerk for Chief Judge Stephen C. Cooper of the 46th District Court in Southfield, Michigan.

After graduating law school in 2005, she moved to Terre Haute, Indiana, and went to work at the law firm of Wright Shagley & Lowery where she prepared various pleadings and motions. After being admitted to the Indiana State Bar in May 2006, she served as a Deputy Prosecutor for Vigo County, Indiana, assigned to city court where she handled prosecution of misdemeanor and traffic infractions. In 2007 she served as Deputy Prosecutor of child support. In that same year she was elected to serve as the Secretary for Indiana Child Support Alliance Board and was re-elected in 2008 for an additional term before joining Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin, where she practices primarily Social Security Disability law.

Vicki is very active in her church and community by serving as a general board member for CHANCES for Indiana Youth, and as a board member and Teen Court Judge of YAR. She also serves on the advancement committee for Troop 504 Boy Scouts of America and is President of the Jay Reuben Clark Law Society Indianapolis chapter and is a board member for IndianaDocs. She is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts of Indiana and is a member of the Terre Haute Bar Association.
