The Terre Haute auto accident happened at the CSX train crossing on Wabash Avenue.

A witness who was at the train crossing told police that the driver of a Toyota Celica approached the intersection at a high rate of speed and attempted to go around the lowered crossing arms to beat the approaching train.

The train collided with the car, causing the Terre Haute auto accident. The train was traveling about 30 miles per hour. The impact of the Terre Haute auto accident threw the victim from the vehicle.
