Man charged with DUI in Chicago auto accident

A Chicago man was charged with DUI and drug possession after an Illinois auto accident that left 11 people injured, according to WBBM Newsradio.

The man was driving on Western Avenue when he hit several other vehicles headed in the same direction. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor DUI, and cited for reckless driving and driving without insurance.

The Chicago auto accident involved eight vehicles and 11 people were sent to the hospital.  All but one of the injured persons were expected to be released by Thursday.

Police are considering seeking felony DUI charges in the Chicago car accident.
