Indiana DUI Injury Lawyers Discuss Dangers of Drinking and Driving

October 30, 2013

Drinking and driving is one of the biggest risk factors on Indiana’s roads and highways today. In fact, the Indiana Drunk Driving Accident Attorneys with the law firm of Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin say that at least three accidents involving an intoxicated driver have occurred in the past several weeks in the regions surrounding Terre Haute.

According to an article from WISHTV 8 News stated that on Thursday, October 10, a 63-year-old man was responsible for causing a crash on I-70 that injured to highway workers. Investigators tested the responsible driver’s blood alcohol level and found him to be nearly seven times the legal limit of .08.

Just weeks later, a man who was more than five times the legal blood-alcohol limit was found to be responsible for causing an accident near the intersection of State Road 46 and Old Riley Road. Reports indicate the 42-year-old female driver of a 2003 Kia van was traveling east on State Road 46 when she failed to stop for two vehicles that were turning left and slammed into them.

With Halloween occurring tomorrow night, the law firm’s team of Indiana Personal Injury Lawyers would like to remind citizens the holiday is listed as one of the most prominent nights for both drinking and driving and fatal motor vehicle accidents.  The firm asks each citizen to do their part to stay safe by refraining from getting behind the wheel if they have consumed any amount of alcohol.
