Judges fear violence over Social Security Disability rulings

The Washington Post reports that judges around the country face growing threats of violence regarding Social Security Disability claims.

There were 50 threats of violence against judges and Social Security administrators in the last six-month reporting period alone.

If a judge rules against providing Social Security benefits to an individual, it can be a significant loss of income to that person, and lately some people have threatened retaliation. However, the Social Security Administration says it takes the safety and security of its employees seriously.
