Caretaker to serve time for stealing Social Security benefits
October 21st, 2010|
A New Jersey caretaker will be facing time in a state prison for stealing government benefits, including Social Security, that were paid to a Linden man after his death, according to mycentraljersey.com.
The total amount stolen was $175,000, and after pleading guilty, the caretaker must also pay restitution to the Social Security Administration and the state Divison of Pension and Benefits.
What do you think should be done to those who steal Social Security benefits from others? Do you think the jail sentences are long enough?
