Caretaker to serve time for stealing Social Security benefits

A New Jersey caretaker will be facing time in a state prison for stealing government benefits, including Social Security, that were paid to a Linden man after his death, according to mycentraljersey.com.

The total amount stolen was $175,000, and after pleading guilty, the caretaker must also pay restitution to the Social Security Administration and the state Divison of Pension and Benefits.
