Indiana State University Holds Wrestling Tournament to Raise Funds for Scholarships

Being active and physically fit is one of the best ways prevent injuries in the event of an accident. The Terre Haute Personal Injury Lawyers with Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin say more than 200 wrestlers from five states recently descended on the region to test not only their physical prowess, but their mental toughness as well.

The Dale Griffin Memorial Wabash Valley Championship wrestling tournament was held at the Indiana State University Center for Health, Wellness, and Life Enrichment this weekend. Participants raised more than $15,000 in proceeds from the event to benefit the Dale Griffin Memorial Scholarship fund.

An article from Indiana State University said the event not only put a focus on the importance of health, but also education, considering students from Terre Haute North Vigo, South Vigo, West Vigo, and Northview high schools received the funds to help with education costs.

Dale Griffin was a soldier who was killed in combat overseas in 2009. His parents set up the event as a reminder of his drive to never give up, which they say is instilled in wrestlers from a very early age.

The attorneys with Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin applaud those who participated in the tournament and are anxious to see the event grow in the future!
