Man sentenced for Social Security fraud

A man used his dead brother’s identity to collect Social Security benefits.

According to columbian.com, the man will spend six months in prison and six months of home confinement for collecting more than $139,000 in Social Security, food stamps and Medicare benefits.

He is also ordered to pay full restitution for Social Security fraud.

The case was investigated by the Social Security Administration Office of Investigation.
