Social Security Administration Website Given Top Customer Satisfaction Rating

Plenty of people have a beef with the Social Security Administration for not approving their disability benefits, among other grievances, but one thing that most people give the SSA high marks on is its website.
The SSA’s website — www.ssa.gov — was just given a top score by the American Customer Satisfaction Index’s E-Government Satisfaction Index, which was released by business analytics firm Foresee Results on Tuesday.
Specifically the SSA’s iClaim and retirement estimator websites were ranked the best for federal websites for e-commerce/transaction this year. Both received a 90 out of 100 in this category.
“A 90 is a phenomenal score, so when we are looking at the private sector, it is at the top of the heap in terms of private-sector scores as well,” said said Larry Freed, CEO of Foresee. “It’s higher than Amazon, and it’s higher than Google.”
This most recent survey included 270,000 participants and related to the third quarter of 2011. The survey is given again each quarter.
On the other hand, the U.S. Department of Treasury’s website, TreasuryDirect.gov, received the poorest of all scores at 63.
