According to lcsun-news.com, the Social Security office in El Paso is warning residents about a scam that involves phone calls telling people they are due Social Security benefits.

The caller claims it was a mandate from President Barack Obama, and the recipient will be given a specific amount of Social Security benefits.

The caller attempts to collect bank and other personal information from the caller, claiming it’s necessary for the caller to receive Social Security benefits.
