Woman creates false alias to collect Social Security Disability benefits

A woman in New Mexico has been accused of falsely applying for Social Security Disability benefits, according to newswest9.com.

According to the Social Security Administration, she obtained a Social Security Number under a fictitious name and collected benefits for 20 years between 1986 and 2006.

The investigation alleged that she collected about $637 a month in Social Security disability benefits, totaling $293,000.
