Indiana Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed In Connection To Fatal Fort Wayne Shooting

According to an article from The Journal Gazette, the incident occurred on Halloween night in 2011 at Mookie’s Bar & Grill in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Police were called to the Clinton Street location that night following a noise complaint, but before police could arrive, shots rang into the air. A 23-year-old man was struck by one of the bullets that was fired and died at a local hospital the following morning.

Now, two years later, the victim’s father has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the owners of the bar where his son died and others associated with the incident. The suit claims the bar and its management failed to supply adequate security on the night the incident occurred. It goes on to allege this negligence was directly responsible for the young man’s death.
