3 Indiana Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Events This May

Motorcycle safety is a top priority in Indiana, and Governor Mike Pence recently declared May “Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month.” That’s why the Terre Haute motorcycle accident lawyers with Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin would like to let you know about several upcoming motorcycle safety events:

1. Safety & Awareness Rides- The Indiana chapter of American Bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE) has announced they are sponsoring several rides this Saturday, May 10, in several different areas of the state. Registration for the events opens at 9 a.m., and the event costs between $5-$10 to participate.
2. Pig Pickens Jamboree- The event held at Deer Creek off of SR 29 will begin on Friday, May 16, and will continue through Sunday, May 18. Tickets are $20 for ABATE members and $25 for non-members, with children under 15 years old allowed in for free.
3. Tiny Tots Riding Experience- Children are encouraged to make their way out to the Porter County Fairgrounds & Expo Center on May 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to learn how to safely operate motorcycles in a safe and controlled environment. During the free event, children will be equipped with helmets and pads before being instructed how to ride a low-powered, small motorcycle equipped with training wheels around a closed course. Children must be 85 pounds or less and be wearing close toed shoes.
