Terre Haute Car Crash Leaves Two Injured

Two people were injured as the result of a Terre Haute Car Crash that occurred last week. Reports indicate the crash happened on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 12, at the intersection of Honey Creek Parkway and South Third Place on the south side of town.

According to the Terre Haute Tribune-Star, a teenage driver was operating an eastbound vehicle along the parkway when he approached a stop sign at the intersection with South Third. The teen told officers he came to a complete stop at the crossing while an SUV passed. The teen misread the passing SUV though, and collided with its side.

The force from the impact of the collision caused the SUV to topple onto its side, injuring both the driver and a child inside the vehicle. Officials say the injuries were minimal because seat belts and safety seats properly restrained all passengers and drivers at the time of the crash.

The accident does highlight the need for motorists to be more aware of their surroundings. Drivers should always look twice in both directions before entering traffic at an intersection. It’s also important to turn a vehicle’s radio down and crack the windows to listen for oncoming traffic.
