A Sweet Tradition: Volunteering at the Terre Haute Strawberry Festival

The Terre Haute Strawberry Festival once again brought warmth, flavor, and community spirit to downtown Terre Haute, and among the many familiar faces contributing to its success was our attorney, Caleb Fleschner, who volunteered his time in support of this beloved local tradition. Hosted annually by the First Congregational Church, the festival transformed historic downtown into a lively gathering place filled with music, laughter, and the unmistakable aroma of fresh strawberries. From early morning preparations to the steady flow of festivalgoers throughout the day, volunteers played an essential role in ensuring everything ran smoothly.

Caleb Fleschner spent the day assisting with festival operations and engaging with members of the community, helping serve guests and supporting the event’s many moving parts. It was a welcome change of pace from the courtroom and office, offering a chance to connect with neighbors in a more relaxed and festive setting.

The festival itself once again showcased why it remains such a treasured part of the region’s summer season. Families enjoyed live entertainment, children participated in hands-on activities, and visitors explored the historic charm of downtown Terre Haute. Of course, the highlight for many remained the abundance of strawberry-themed treats, ranging from classic strawberry shortcake to fresh, locally inspired creations.

Beyond the festivities, the event also reflected the strong sense of community that defines the Wabash Valley. Volunteers, organizers, and local residents came together to celebrate not just the arrival of summer, but the relationships and traditions that make the area special.
