Political parties differ in Social Security options

According to a news-leader.com, there are many misconceptions about how political parties feel in regards to Social Security benefits.

The newspaper’s feature suggests that Democrats from across the country believe their GOP opponents want to abolish or “privatize” Social Security.

Though some Republican candidates and incumbents favor allowing younger workers to invest some portion of their payroll taxes in the stock market, the newspaper suggests that few have supported replacing it with a privatized system.
