A plan to balance the budget and reduce the national deficit still includes making cuts to Social Security benefits.
According to The Associated Press, proposals still stand to raise the Social Security retirement age and curb benefit increases.
The plan also presents ideas to increase the federal tax on gas, as well as eliminate congressional spending projects.
