The Wall Street Journal reports that the Social Security Disability system is not financially sustainable, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
The program was initially developed to help people who were permanently disabled, however over the years the program has expanded benefits. In the past two years alone, the number of people receiving social security disability benefits has grown by 10%.
An additional problem with the system is that there are no term limits, so people can receive benefits indefinitely.
Do you think the Social Security Disability program should be eliminated? Should people have to pay individually for disability insurance?
If you are eligible for Social Security Disability benefits, the Social Security Disability attorneys at Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin can help you.
